This catalogue was published by the Frye Art Museum in conjunction with the exhibition Zhi Lin: Crossing History/Crossing Cultures (November 28, 2003–January 25, 2004). This exhibition was first held at the Indiana State University Gallery (October 29–November 14, 2003) and later at the Koplin Del Rio Gallery, Los Angeles (February 28–April 10, 2004).
A tribute to the artistic talent and brilliance of Zhi Lin’s commanding visual statements, this catalogue examines the artist’s fusion of techniques and diverse cultural experiences. The social commentary of the artist’s paintings and the intensity of his compositions evoke the complexity of existence.
This publication includes a foreword by Kaz McCue, an introduction by Eleana Del Rio, essay by Jan Schall along with an artist biography and full color illustrations of the exhibition artwork.
