Wayak Chuy is a collective of Maya women embroiderers from Sotuta, Yucatán, Mexico who harness the transformative power of traditional embroidery as an act of cultural resistance. Cofounded by artist Priscilla Dobler Dzul in 2024, Wayak Chuy was created in response to colonial legacies of cultural erosion and reclaims embroidery as both art and activism.
