Colleen RJC Bratton (she/they) lives and works in Seattle, Washington. She graduated from Seattle University with a degree in Visual Arts and Philosophy. Bratton's work is inspired by personal meditation. Seeking parallels between the human body and the larger natural body, she creates biomorphic sculptures, installations and drawings where these shared experiences exist in one form. Bratton works primarily with found, responsibly gathered materials (flowers, plants, fabric, wood, vintage paperweights, glass and paint). Their creations provide immersive experiences for viewers to consider routes of empathy between themselves and the non-human life forms surrounding them.
