Tic-Tac-Toe Rug
Tic-Tac-Toe Rug
A series of board games have inspired Studio Tenjung’s new collection, Play Date. In the spirit of play and experimentation, the studio highlights a lesser-known Tibetan rug- weaving technique called Boorma that uses rods of varying thicknesses to create high and low piles. Also added are flat sumak weaves to create a more dramatic surface relief.
Dyed with traditional botanical dyes such as Himalayan madder, Rhubarb and Indian Indigo, a three- dimensional grid with checkerboard lines create a delightful game of Tic- Tac Toe. The middle square and border framing of foliage green perfectly grounds this composition of mostly beige, blue, red and yellows. Tic Tac Toe also makes for a bold statement piece for your walls or as an accent rug for your living spaces.
