This quilt was machine-pieced, hand-quilted, hand-stitched binding and hand-dyed. Every single color was individually hand-dyed using Alkanet Root, Lac, Cutch, Cochineal, Madder Root, Maple Leaves, Henna, Osage Orange Tree Bark, Logwood and Avocado Pits. Minimum of 4 baths for each color (Scour, Tannin, Mordant and Dye), with darker muted colors using an additional iron bath.
100% cotton fabric, batting and thread. Hanging sleeve attached on the back, can be hung as an art piece or used as a throw blanket. As with all fiber art pieces, avoid hanging in direct sunlight. Machine-wash cold/tumble dry low.

Naomi Parker (Chippewa Cree, Yakama and an enrolled member of the Makah tribe) is a graphic designer and visual artist based in Tacoma, WA. She attended the graphic design program at the Seattle Central Creative Academy and received her degree in ‘Interdisciplinary Visual Arts’ from the University of Washington.
