This catalogue is published by the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston in conjunction with its exhibition Perspectives 150: Robyn O’Neil (January 27–March 26, 2006), organized by Lynn M. Herbert, senior curator for the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston. The exhibition travelled to the Frye Art Museum, Seattle (April 29–July 30, 2006) and Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York (August 19–October 8, 2006). This exhibition of drawings from 2004–2005 is the first major museum exhibition of the artist’s work.
The publication features a description by Lynn M. Herbert, a catalogue of the exhibition artworks and a biography and selected bibliography of the artist. Also included are six grayscale illustrations of O’Neil’s recent graphite drawings depicting quiet, introspective landscapes, which allegorically delineate themes of death.
