Svall Scarf
Svall Scarf
The stunning Svall scarf is a collaboration with US-based Swedish designer Lotta Jansdotter. “This design was inspired by the ocean and the rocks back home on Åland Islands, in Scandinavia where I was born,” she says. “I go back every summer to teach printing retreats, gather calm and inspiration, visit family and dear friends, and to sauna — a lot!” Bold strokes of midnight blue create a striking interpretation of oceanic landscapes in this gorgeous silkscreen print. The Svall Scarf, or Furoshiki, is made with pristine craftsmanship in Japan.
Furoshiki are the original multi-use textile. The Japanese have been using them to wrap things since the 17th century but today they’re worn as chic scarves, carried as lightweight bags and displayed as works of art.
